Hi, Iām Alana.
I am a peace advocate, communication expert, storyteller, creator and media voice.
My journey into advocacy started the hard way ā through the urgency of personal crisis on a global stage. When six of my family members were taken hostage on October 7th I became a public advocate overnight in one of the most polarizing and high-stakes geopolitical and humanitarian crises of all time.
Whether talking on national news, writing op-eds, giving speeches, meeting with politicians or sharing on social media I found that in order to make people care about what you care about it takes a radical courage paired with equally radical tenderness.
Through my experience and perspective I show people how to confront complexity, challenge binaries, connect across divides with compassion, and turn their narrative into opportunities to actually be heard and find the solutions they long for.
Today I advocate on the issues that matter to me from the Middle East to here at home and I offer my story, perspective and skills to encourage and inspire people to become more heartstrong over headstrong.
Reach out to work with me for speaking engagements, consulting, media contribution and collaborations, and other aligned creative partnerships.
Advocate from the heart.
ABOUT ME
As an Israeli-American with Yemenite and Ashkenazi roots, I grew up with two homes and two cultures that shaped my complex identity and expansive worldview. But I could never have imagined how critical that identity and perspective would one day become. Additionally, an expertise in communications and rhetoric along with a 15-year career in digital media equipped me with useful tools, but ultimately it was my emotional sensibilities ā my ability to feel deeply, articulate vulnerability to ask others to care about what I care about ā that most helped me advocate for the safe return of the people I love. That became my most powerful asset and is one I aim to instill in others in order to make positive social and political change in our deeply fractured world.
I am also proud to serve as the Executive Director of the Narrow Bridge Project, a radical program that encourages Jewish people to stand together on the narrow bridge that represents our often differing fears in order to more effectively confront them through dialogue, education and relationships.
